Dave - $30-$32/hr Full Time Nanny/Manager for Busy Family With Sweet Baby! ASAP Boulder

Nanny Job Details

Job ID: 5752
Location: Boulder, CO

Please describe your family:
We are looking for a nanny for our 7-month old baby girl who loves to play, move, and giggle. We are a laid back family that includes our sweet babe, two working parents, and two very much not-working doodles. Zoey is a lovable and lazy 9-year-old Labradoodle and Carl is a sassy and cuddle-loving 2-year-old Cavapoo.

Mom works at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora and Dad runs a small business in Boulder. Mom typically works four 12 hour days per week. Dad sometimes needs to travel for work and on those days we will need longer hours. We are looking for someone who can work Monday through Friday, 45 hours per week with flexibility in the schedule as needed, plus additional hours during weeks when Dad is traveling.

We are looking for someone who can become an integral part of our family and who can help us create a loving, safe, and nurturing environment for Baby.

Please describe why you are looking for a nanny:
We love the one-on-one care and attention that Baby receives from a Nanny. Baby has had a Nanny since she was born and we believe that the engagement and attention that she has received has had a very positive effect on her development. We are looking to build on an already very positive experience for her with a Nanny who is interested in a long term position.

We are looking for a Nanny who is nurturing, attentive, and perceptive to Baby’s needs and how she communicates. At the same time, we do want a Nanny who believes in the value of some structure (naps, self soothing) and some boundaries, especially when she gets a little older. In short, we do our best to aim for a balanced approach that is more Montessori than it is Waldorf.

Describe the child(ren) you need a nanny for:
One 7 month old girl who loves to crawl and dance. She figured out how to stand up recently and she’ll be very excited to show you her new skill. She is a great sleeper most of the time and a great eater. She does well on a schedule and loves to eat both milk and solids.

Describe your home setting: We have a single family home in Central Boulder. There is a home office that Dad rarely uses since his office is down the street. Occasionally Dad will come home for lunch but typically he will be gone during weekdays. Our house is ideally situated for outings to the library, parks, creek trail, and pearl street that are all just a short walk away. While we aren’t total freaks about it, we do tend to keep the house fairly tidy.

We are interested in the following:
Nanny, Permanent

Full-Time/Part-Time?
Full-time

How long do you need a Nanny?
1 Year

Live-in/Live-out?
Nanny, live-out

What tasks/errands do you expect your nanny to perform?
Baby related tasks come first and foremost and would include: laundry, cleaning bottle/feeding related supplies, and notifying us when baby-related things are running low (diapers, wipes, etc.). House duties would mostly include loading/emptying the dishwasher, meal prep, organizing closets when chaos takes hold of them, and grocery shopping. On days when Baby requires more attention for whatever reason, we understand that some of the housework might not get finished. Our housekeepers come weekly, so other than tidying, cleaning is not required.

What activities do you want your nanny to do with your child?
Support Baby’s development with thoughtful play, reading, singing, talking to her/narrating the day. Going on outings to the library, park, and swim lessons (once we get off the waitlist!). Figuring out new ways to make her giggle!

What special certifications/requirements are you looking for?
CPR & First aid certified. Up to date on all vaccines including TDAP, COVID, and seasonal flu shot, we will pay for these if needed. Someone who has experience with a Montessori-style approach is a bonus!

Does this position require a valid driver's license?
Yes

Does this position require a car?
Yes

When will this position be available?
Immediately

How many hours do you need a nanny for?
We need care Monday through Friday. Your schedule on most days will be 7:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Mom has a rotating schedule and is off one day a week. On her day off, it is helpful to have 3-5 hours of help so she can run errands and exercise. A typical week is roughly 45 hours. Dad sometimes travels for work so we would need more support on those days, but we can usually adjust the schedule so that on those weeks you could have a day off. We may offer opportunities to travel with our family on occasion, though that is not required. The initial contract will be for 1 year, though we are eager to find someone who is interested in a long-term position.

How much are you willing to pay? Do you offer benefits?
$30-$32 per hour depending on experience. Guaranteed hours. Major holidays, PTO/Sick Days, Vacation. Performance Bonus!

Do you have any pets or animals in your home?
Zoey and Carl are our two doodles. Zoey is a very loving and very lazy 9 year old Labradoodle (50 lbs). Carl is a sassy 2 year old Cavapoo (11 lbs). No care except for occasional feeding and water. Must love dogs!

What else are you looking for in a nanny?
We are looking for someone who loves babies and children and supports our Baby in developing her own autonomy. Someone who is thoughtful, reliable, and a good communicator. Also did we mention reliable? You will be a very important part of our lives!

Additional comments:
We look forward to meeting you! Baby (and Carl!) are anxiously awaiting a cuddle!
