I currently run my own private practice business as a clinical mental health counselor, and I am also contracted with a local agency that specializes in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy. Describe your childcare style:I believe that harnessing expression is very important to a child's upbringing, and when working with children, I believe that it is extremely important that they communicate and express themselves in a productive and mature manner, and I teach them skills that will help them achieve that. I also strongly implement art and music, as well as literature and exploration when working with children, so that they can not only understand the world around them, but bask in the awesomeness of the world and the universe in which we live. What activities do you like to do with children:I love to be outdoors most of the time engaging in educational exploration, such as looking for, and identifying, wildlife, looking at weather patterns, identifying the names, colors and shapes of things we see, going on walks and trips to the park, and engaging in educational activities. These activities include going to the museum, bookstore, library, farms, historical landmarks, etc. I also love to read and have storytelling time, do arts and crafts, have songtime, make up plays, and play games. I also have experience with Waldorf education, so if the family is interested, I prefer to work with them in the Waldorf style. Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? Because kids are fun, imaginative, brilliant, little human beings! They are a blast to be around, and it is a wonderful thing to be part of their lives as they grow and learn.
