Experience: I am a career nanny and household management professional with over 14 years of combined experience. I have vast experience managing households including the supervision of other employees such as piano teachers, maids, gardeners, and other maintenance workers. My strengths as a household manager include proficient management of family schedules and maintaining overall household upkeep and organization. My career as a nanny has provided me with the opportunity to care for children ranging from 2 years of age to 14 years of age. My goal as a nanny has always been to inspire children to participate in new and different types of play to promote emotional and physical development. I strive to promote literacy development and I am able to implement interventions if needed in terms of academic and emotional development. I enjoy creating activities that encourage exploration and imagination. I have nearly five years of experience caring for children with special needs. This includes administering medications and supporting individualized learning and emotional growth goals. In addition, I have extensive experience collaborating with physical therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, mental health therapists, and parents on intervention plans. I am sensitive to emotional distress and due to my background in social work, I am able to implement effective strategies to support their needs. My experience as a student in lactation has also given me expertise in caring for infants. I am proficient in lactation support and consultation.

Experience with the following age groups: Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, School age, Pre-teen.

Interests and hobbies:Hiking, skiing, sport rock climbing, traveling, cooking, scuba diving, kayaking, yoga, reading, and pottery.

Describe your childcare style:I fell in love with the Montessori method after reading The Montessori Baby and The Montessori Toddler written by Simone Davies. I have seen first-hand how age-appropriate activities, toys, and environments give children the opportunity to foster intellectual and emotional growth. This method provides children with the independence needed to challenge and learn constructively. For example, a toddler that is given the opportunity to set the table or make a meal may feel a sense of accomplishment and increased self-worth. This increased self-worth may encourage the toddler to explore their social or intellectual abilities. I believe this is key in order to promote successful transitions into primary years and beyond. Love and Logic is another style that I utilize to promote children to make healthy and responsible choices. It encourages proper manners and good behaviors in a compassionate yet logical way. I believe that it is important to give children choices to make decisions as this promotes independence and responsibility.

What activities do you like to do with children:Infants: Tummy Time: This helps strengthen an infant's neck, back, and shoulder muscles. It also promotes motor skills. Sensory Play: Using soft toys, rattles, and textured materials to stimulate their senses. Singing and Lullabies: Gentle songs and rhymes can be soothing and can also introduce them to rhythms and melodies. Gentle Movement: Holding their hands and helping them do "bicycle" leg movements or gentle bouncing can be both fun and soothing. Mirror Play: Babies are often fascinated by their own reflections. This can help with self-recognition. Reading: Even though they can't understand the words yet, reading colorful and high-contrast picture books can capture their attention and introduce them to the rhythm of language. Outdoor Strolls: Taking them for walks in a stroller or baby carrier. The fresh air, change of scenery, and natural stimuli can be invigorating for them. Toddlers: Sensory Play: Using materials like playdough, water, sand, and rice to stimulate their senses. Storytime: Reading colorful picture books and singing nursery rhymes. Outdoor Exploration: Taking walks to the park, playing in the sandbox, and exploring nature. Art and Crafts: Simple crafts using paints, crayons, and colored paper. Music and Movement: Dancing to children's songs, playing with musical instruments, and rhythm games. School Age Children: Homework Assistance: Helping with school assignments and encouraging reading. Creative Arts: More advanced crafts, drawing, and painting projects. Outdoor Sports: Playing games like soccer, basketball, or even just catch. Board Games: Introducing games that challenge their thinking like Scrabble, Monopoly, or Chess. Science Experiments: Simple and safe experiments to pique their curiosity about the world. Cooking and Baking: Teaching basic cooking skills with recipes suitable for their age. Field Trips: Visiting museums, zoos, or local attractions to provide educational experiences.
