Experience: I have worked with several families as a long-term babysitter for the past six years, duties included transporting to and from school and after school activities. For the past two summers, I was a camp counselor at a prestigious camp in Maine. I served as a camp counselor to 15 ten-year-old girls for a span of 7 weeks each summer!. This meant I lived in a cabin with them, took them to their activities, did their activities with them and cared for the basic physical and emotional needs. Additional experience includes infant and toddler care. For the infants I cared for, I would do feeding, changing, playtime and reading activities. For toddlers I like to do simple arts and crafts activities as well as easy and safe cooking activities in encourage creativity. I have also cared for children with special needs and learning disabilities.

Experience with the following age groups: Infants through school age.

Interests and hobbies:I enjoy any outdoor activity such as hiking, camping, running, kayaking, and climbing. I also love to read and write.

Describe your childcare style:I believe children are best cared for when their caretaker is enthusiastic and is able to share the child's sense of humor. I also believe patience is key when caring for children and also maintaining a relationship where the child respects the caretakers authority in manners of safety.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love outdoor activities as well as creative activities such as reading, creative writing, arts and crafts, and cooking.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I don't like to take myself too seriously, which I think makes me built to be a great nanny! I've always had a unique sense of humor and level of enthusiasm that I discovered allowed me to connect with children very well. Being a nanny can be a tough job as children can sometimes be unpredictable, however, it is the most rewarding job a person can have. I believe children teach us some of the greatest lessons in acceptance and patience.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? It is important for a nanny to have an exceptional relationship with both parent and child/children. For parents, a nanny needs to be reliable and able to communicate at all times with the parents. For the children, a nanny should be enthusiastic and share a child's sense of humor. There needs be an established respect between the child and the nanny in terms of following rules and instructions for the benefit and safety of the child. I believe patience and understanding is the foundation of building this respect.
