Experience: I started babysitting when I was 12 and have always loved taking care of others! My mother ran an after school program in Vermont for many years and I helped with that; leading activities, facilitating snack time, and being an extra set of hands for her! I went on to babysit everyone in my neighborhood and later became a full-time summer nanny with a family for 3 years. I currently work as a personal assistant in New York City where I assist select high-profile clients in managing their busy lives.

Interests and hobbies:I am an actor and singer and also play the flute! I play tennis, swim, ski, and love to hike. I speak Spanish (as well as very basic French and basic Italian). I am a decent cook (I cook for fun) and love trying new restaurants and recipes alike. In my free time, I love to watercolor, go to yoga class, and bake the most perfectly braided challah you've ever seen. Also, I love cats!

Describe your childcare style:I am responsible, and believe in safety first. I work hard to be patient with kids and help them feel heard and listened to. I am high-energy, and love playing games and entertaining kids! I believe in positive disciplinary techniques, and always praising kids when they have tried hard to do the right thing.

What activities do you like to do with children:I'm a great cook, and love supervising everything from baking chocolate chip cookies to cutting up apples to popping popcorn as an afternoon snack. It makes me s o happy to help kids feel confident (and safe) in the kitchen and to complete a project that they can end up enjoying afterward!I also love to read (I actually have a part-time job reading aloud to law students) and can read aloud for hours! I'm always up for a trip to the library or bookstore and love getting kids excited about reading.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have always loved taking care of others! Whether it's a younger sibling or a large group of children, caring for other people has just become a big part of who I am. I would love to continue to be a positive influence in children's lives! I truly believe that is what the world needs more of.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think it's incredibly important to be responsible and reliable as a nanny. Safety is the priority, and taking care of the child's physical and emotional well being comes first.That being said, I think being fun, engaging, entertaining, and being a great listener are all important qualities for a nanny to have. Making children and teenagers feel heard and acknowledged, and building positive self-esteem is key.

I take responsibility for children and privacy for your family very seriously. I love what I do, helping people and making other people's lives more manageable and I take a lot of pride in my work.
