Experience: I started babysitting my senior year in high school and continued on throughout college and the summer after college before I relocated to Colorado. I've worked mostly for a family with two boys. George was 8 months old when I began caring for him, and his brother, Max, came along soon thereafter. He was 2 months old when the parents went back to work and I began watching both boys 3 days a week. I've also worked for a family with three children: Ayla (5), Tegan (3) and Taya (just over a year). I've watched all three children at once. My duties have included: preparing meals and feeding the kids, light cleaning, rides home from daycare, reading, walks, playtime and getting ready for bed.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through school age.

Interests and hobbies:I am a very active person who loves to be outside hiking, walking, biking and just enjoying fresh air. I love to read for fun, which I try to do a lot in between semesters. I'm starting to get in to yoga as well.

Describe your childcare style:My style revolves around allowing the kids the freedom to voice their feelings and desires. I think it's important for children to feel heard, so I try to be very mindful of the fact that they need to express themselves in order to grow. I always have safety as my top priority, but I think i'm laid back in the sense of making the kids feel very comfortable, and making sure they're having fun. I'm definitely a health nut, so a big focus of mine is making sure the kids enjoy healthy and tasty snacks.

What activities do you like to do with children:I like for the kids to show me what they like to do and seeing their creativity and imaginations come to life. Every child is different, so i'm happy to do any activities that are important to them and even introduce them to something new. I've watched mostly boys in the past, so I've done a lot of sports related activities, but also drawing, painting and baking, too.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I've had many restaurant/ customer service jobs, but nothing gives me purpose like caring for children. I always leave at the end of the day knowing that I've had a positive impact on the kids, even if just for a few hours. It is rewarding and a joy to watch them grow and navigate life. I love seeing things through their eyes and being a part of their progress. It amazes me how the simplest things make children happy, and I just truly enjoy being around them.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Patience, kindness, respect for other people and our differences, the ability to adjust when things don't go as planned, an innocent sense of humor, open mind, and treating your mind and body well so you're ready to take on the day.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting you!
