Experience: I began babysitting at a young age, and started to nanny when I went to college. Most of my nanny experience is with children aged 2-3, but I also have experience with 5, 8, and 12 year olds. As a nanny, I did pick ups and drop offs, meal prep, tutoring/homework help, arts and crafts, and picking up after the children. I got my degree in Early Childhood Education, and interned in both a pre-k and 3rd grade classroom. I have been a 3rd grade teacher for the past two years.

Experience with the following age groups: Toddlers, preschool, school age, and middle school.

Interests and hobbies:I love to be active and be outside! I enjoy cooking, baking, reading, yoga, hiking, listening to music and podcasts, and finding new creative hobbies.

Describe your childcare style:As a nanny and educator, I believe it is most important to lead everything you do with a caring heart. I feel that developing relationships with the children and the families you are working with is the most important aspect of what I do. I like to have fun, be silly, present things in new and interesting ways, and allow children to have the opportunity to explore and play. I believe it is just as important to have structure and hold children accountable. I have found that by developing positive relationships I am able to do this successfully, and at times when they may need to reflect on their actions, we can do this together and use it as an authentic learning opportunity.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love to do hands-on activities, exploring outside, attending local activities that are geared toward children, playing pretend, baking, dancing to music, anything that gets their imagination going! I also love to bring in educational activities like practicing colors, letters, counting everyday objects, and helping kids recognize sight words or decode basic words. My absolute favorite thing to do is read with children.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? Working with children is my passion, and I've had the gift of getting to do so as an educator for the last few years. I now love the idea of working with one family, and having the opportunity to really focus on those children and helping them learn and grow.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe a nanny should be positive, fun, creative, and warm, while enforcing the rules and structure that the parents have already established. Nannies need to effectively communicate with both the children and the parents. A nanny needs to be responsible and have the ability to think and act quickly.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting you!
