Experience: I have over 30 years experience caring for and teaching children from newborn to teens. I was a live-in nanny for 8 years, and also was a nanny for a family whose 3 children ranged from newborn to three years old. I have worked in an after school YMCA program as an assistant teacher. I also was a ropes course facilitator and led many outdoor trips with teens through the YMCA Summer camp program. Before I had my own children, I was a live-in residential counselor helping manage a group home for people with cognitive and physical challenges. I worked for a Developmental Disability Center for 12 years. My job consisted of running and maintaining the livelihood of three individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. I have experience working with people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and brain injury. After my children were born I became a stay at home parent raising them until school started for my youngest. I went back to work as a nanny for a family with a 22 month old. Also working for multiple family managing child care. Ranging in ages from 4 month old to 3 years. In 2020, pandemic school closures resulted in my temporary transition back to stay-at-home parent. Now that my sons have safely returned to in-person learning, I am confident that it is safe to transition back into providing child care for families.

Experience with the following age groups: Newborn, Toddler, Pre-school, School Age, Pre-teen, Teens, Adults with disabilities.

Interests and hobbies: I enjoy being outdoors all seasons. In the summer I like to be in the mountains, hiking, kayaking, backpacking and looking forward to learning how to fly fish from my husband and boys. We like to spend time at the ocean and doing outdoor sports. I am an animal lover. During the winter months you will find me on the slopes. I enjoy cooking, reading, biking, travel, arts and crafts, board games and puzzles.

Describe your childcare style:As a nanny I believe that everyday is a new day to explore and grow. I believe we are always growing and there is always room to learn new and exciting things. As a nanny I make it a point to follow the guidance of what the families wants and needs are. Safety is my main priority. I am a fan of the Love and Logic approach to helping children learn to grow and make healthy choices.

What activities do you like to do with children:I love being outdoors with children exploring the world around us learning and growing. I believe play is a fundamental part of a child's early development. Play, help them with communication, problem-solving and motor skills. Active play, Imaginary play, creative play and role playing whether it is outdoors and indoor is so beneficial in the development of the child's confidence and self-esteem.
