Experience: I have been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I studied Elementary Education for three years and Early Childhood Education for two years, giving me a total of five years studying education. I gain my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education in May 2021. I began volunteering in the elementary school in my senior year of high school. I also coached children in figure skating (ages 2-12) for three years in high school and college. During my junior year of college I completed my practicums in a Young 5’s preschool classroom. I currently hold the job of recess supervisor/paraprofessional at an elementary school where I work with students at the ages of 5-10, this job requires me to work with large amount of children at a time, think on my feet, and have FUN with the children. While on the playground with my students we love to play on the equipment, create new games to play, practice teamwork and social skills, explore nature, and build friendships with one another. While babysitting in the home I love to make use of my knowledge and ideas I have gained from working in the school. I am experienced in various arts and crafts (art is everywhere!), trying new recipes, playing so many games, reading lots of books, cleaning and tidying, singing, dancing, and enjoying music, getting exercise, and my favorite, exploring nature. I am happy to help as a Nanny/House Assistant or Manager, whatever is needed! As a previous housekeeper who loves to clean, you can count on me to keep your home tidy while I am there. I can run errands, do laundry, drive to sports/activities, cook/bake, you name it!

Experience with the following age groups: I have experience with children ages newborn to 12 years old. I also have experience with Special Needs children as well.

Interests and hobbies:In my free time I enjoy hiking, walking, jogging, weight lifting, reading, writing, yoga, meditation, skiing, beach time, exploring nature, and spending time with family and friends.

Describe your childcare style:My style of childcare focuses on responding to children warmly, having clear and appropriate expectations of children, and using understandable and proper communication. It is important to address children’s accomplishments, give explanations for behavior expectations, and help promote skills (cognitive, social, motor, etc.). There are endless learning opportunities for children throughout their days. I believe it is important to take advantage of the on the spot teachable moments. Stop to look at the snowflakes, go for a nature walk and observe the sights, smells, and sounds, experiment with new recipes, create new games. There are so many opportunities!

What activities do you like to do with children:.Not only do I like doing hands on science, art, math, language arts, and sensory activities with children. But I believe it is just as important to incorporate activities that promote crucial life skills (such as cooking, self care, communication, and emotional self-regulation). I also love sharing activities with children just for fun, such as going outside, exploring nature, listening to music, dancing, etc. I like to follow children guided exploration, children have so many interests and questions about the world around them. How fast do plants grow? Queue the vegetable planting! Craving a special food? Let’s check out our ingredients and see what we can make! Need to get some energy out? Let’s sing, dance, go outside, have a race, build a fort! Want to read a new book? Time for a library trip! The possibilities are ENDLESS!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to work with children. After attending college for Elementary Education for three years I decided to change my path and study Early Childhood Education. No matter what my job has been (babysitter, coach, paraprofessional, recess supervisor, tutor) I have found an overwhelming amount of joy in working with children. We can have fun, be silly, share laughs, play games, learn new things, explore, and grow our relationship. That is my happy place.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I think it is extremely important for a nanny to be caring, loving, patient, understanding, empathetic, flexible, clean, organized, and energetic. Children are learning, growing, and exploring the world every day. It is important for children to have role models that will model appropriate behavior. In addition to that, I believe it is crucial for nannies to be effective with communication and to work as a team with parents. Last but not least, nannies need to know how to have fun! Enjoy the most out of every single day that comes.

Additional comments:Working with children has always been my passion, I am ready to be the extra set of hands you need and provide positive support to you and your family. I look forward to meeting you!
