Experience: I’ve spent the last 10 years as a full time nanny (last 7 with the same family, here in NY, twin G7 and B5) I’m hoping to spend the future years on a new adventure with another wonderful family! A little about me… I’m big on the outdoors, nature hikes, swimming (pool & ocean), active play, making the best of snow days, educating about what’s around us (animals, plants, bugs etc.), turning anything into a fun game, reading, cooking and baking with kids, all kinds of crafting and creative activities, creative/imaginative play, building forts, dress up and storytelling. Basically just having loads of fun while helping little ones discover the world and who, what, where, why and how everything works. As a nanny / house manager for the last 7 years, as well as all regular nanny duties including traveling with family and overnights, running errands, dealing with and receiving outside contractors, grocery shopping, dry cleaning, children’s laundry, car washes, general tidying, organizing closets and toys, planning adventures, activities and entertainment, creating donate bags and dropping them off, helping make meals when needed. Basically helping to keep the home running like a well-oiled machine!

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through school age.

Interests and hobbies:I love to travel, read, cook, swim, ski, hike, run, enjoy the outdoors, knit, sew, endlessly doodle and create, and visit museums. I’m also a lover of all animals and most creatures. Fully Vaccinated – COVID Vaccine included.

Describe your childcare style:I believe that learning is endless, and one can never have too much knowledge. I spend everyday striving to further educate myself and those around me through reading, research, experiences and taking a moment to assess the environment around us and the impact we are having on it. There is an answer or discussion to be had for most questions children have and I honestly believe if you take the time to find out what they’re asking and dig deep in research to provide them with the correct facts and imagery it can do and inspire amazing things! As my background is in design, I definitely take a creative, honest, and straightforward approach to childcare. Which I believe has done well for those who I’ve cared for in the past. That said, I believe kindness, love, respect, manners, and a good amount of silliness goes a long way too! I’ve spent the last 10 years as a full time nanny (last 7 with the same family, here in NY, twin G7 and B5) I’m hoping to spend the future years on a new adventure with another wonderful family! Basically just having loads of fun while helping little ones discover the world and who, what, where, why and how everything works.

What activities do you like to do with children:Newborn – Toddler Ages This is a wonderful age where everything is just beginning, bring on the adventures and discoveries! In the past I have made homemade baby food, introduced new foods, textures, experiences and created healthy balanced meals. I have also created sleep schedules, feeding schedules, regular routines and bath time at all ages. I work on many things at this age from touch, sensory stimulation and spatial work to potty training, walking, talking, speech, letter recognition, pattern recognition, color recognition, all while making sure to encourage them to achieve their milestones and celebrating when they do! Getting outside and exploring as much as possible, the world is truly a magnificent place! It’s also important they’re involved in age appropriate classes to keep them active, involved in their community, while learning something new. Classes also help with socialization with both children their own age and other adults, play dates, general friendliness, manners, and teaching children how to act appropriately in different situations are all important at this age as well. Preschool age My love for nature and the great outdoors generally passes quite easily from me to them at this stage if it hasn’t already, from walks and hikes to endless time spent in the pool / ocean swimming or learning to swim. Being active and exploring is the best way to be, answering unlimited questions about all topics is a forte of mine and I enjoy every minute. It is truly incredible to watch as something new is absorbed and a spark is ignited. I’m known for my love of spending snow days in the thick of it, creating igloos, snowmen and having snowball fights always followed by hot chocolates! I try to encourage learning and make it as fun as possible by often educating about what is around us (animals, plants, bugs etc.) I turn most anything into a fun game, my trivia - based off of information they’ve learned about in the past week, months, years is an all time favorite! This age is also a wonderful time to get into the kitchen, through baking and cooking much is learned. I’m most well known for my homemade crepes often with Nutella, lemon chocolate chip cookies, homemade pasta and my famous Mac & Cheese! At this age our imaginations are also really starting to take flight, I encourage this and love to create endlessly with them both on paper through drawing, painting, playdoh and all crafting as well as through their play. Today we may be sailing the high seas, and we’ve been taken by pirates… who's going to walk the plank? Or maybe we’re just building a gigantic pillow fort to snuggle up in and read some stories or make up some great ones of our own! Basically I think it's important to have loads of fun while helping little ones discover the world, and the who, what, where, why and how everything works. School age For school age children I do much of the same as above but on a more detailed level. I’m sure to focus more closely on their math, science, speech, reading and grammar. As well as helping with homework, letter formation and writing skills. Manners and respect are important at all ages and encouraged always! Usually by this age we’ve moved into longer more thoughtful walks / hikes, broader discussions about life, playing sports, finding and exploring their interests, and more advanced swimming and likely diving too! Every age is a great age! There are always endless things to learn, discover and experience for us all!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? This is what comes naturally to me, it has always felt like a perfect fit. I've always loved children of all ages, and their ability to be truly open and honest while discovering all the small things often forgotten by adults. It's a great responsibility impacting the lives of young ones which I take very seriously, with an added dose of fun and lots of giggles!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? Some of the most important characteristics of a nanny are being able to have open-honest communication with both the parents and child/children, being very reliable, and most importantly being kind, respectful, caring, understanding and loving.

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting amazing families through Nannies of the Rockies!
