Experience: 1 year pod teaching, 7 years of homeschooling, 2 years teaching homeschool co-ops, 9 years of teaching and childcare in nursery-5th grade church classrooms, 20+ years of babysitting, 2 years as a professional nanny. I have been a pod teacher this past year for two families including two second graders, and two preschoolers. I have been teaching virtual online school for both second graders and have been supplementing curriculum for writing, reading, spelling, and unit studies. I have also been providing a full curriculum for two preschoolers. Before becoming a pod teacher, I homeschooled both of my own children for seven years, and during that time I taught at several homeschooling co-ops. Throughout my life I have taught in different children's church settings. In addition, I began babysitting as a young teenager, and in my late teens became a full-time nanny for 3 young children ages (1yr-7yr). I am extremely passionate about inspiring children of all ages to love learning and to open their minds to the wonder around them. Household Management for 10+ years, including but not limited to laundry, dishes, cooking, menu planning, grocery shopping and light housekeeping. I am very comfortable with menu planning and cooking for large families. I have background in health coaching and have customized menus for clients with dietary needs such as diary free, vegan, gluten free, organic, non-gmo, and even raw vegan meal plans. I am also very comfortable with pets of any kind. I have been pet sitting since I was a preteen and love all animals.

Describe your childcare style:I love to inspire learning through adventure and fun. Some of the ways I like to implement this is by exploring the great outdoors, and using sensory play to delight and aid in connecting information to their senses. I desire to empower children to learn to process emotion and verbalize their own feelings and needs. Also I have learned that being heard and understood is powerful; therefore, I place great value in listening and being understanding.

What activities do you like to do with children:Swimming, bowling, bike rides, playing at the park, library trips, any type of museum or theater, games, crafts, unit studies, reading, music time, cooking/baking, and creative play through sensory bins, science experiments, and art.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I enjoy being a part of the growth and development of young minds and personalities. Working with children is extremely fulfilling as I aid them in discovering the world around them.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Communication, patience, positivity, creativity, the ability to understand the needs of the children, the ability to help them to process and communicate their emotions, and empowering them to make choices that are wise and helpful to themselves and others.
