Describe your childcare style:I believe in meeting each child where they are in their own growth and development and building a nurturing relationship from that space. As a professional in Behavior Analysis, I believe in the power of positive reinforcement and play! I enjoy giving children a space where they can be creative and find their independence within a safe space with age and Individually appropriate boundaries. I am inspired by child educators such as Maria Montessori and Magda Gerber.

What activities do you like to do with children:I use typical milestones for child growth and development to build activities and daily routines into a child's life. For infants incorporating early development activities such as tummy time, rolling over, developing the physical skills for crawling and eventually walking! Preschoolers can be supervised for activities such as drawing, making art, cutting, and engaging in pretend and outdoor play. I love to incorporate music and movement which help to develop strong muscles and teach receptive and expressive language skills. As children age and enter school, I enjoy helping with homework and academics as well as engaging in crafts and STEM activities for kids! Building off my years in Reggio Emilia programs I love to be a participant, engaged with young children to give them opportunities to construct their own learning. Likewise, building off my knowledge and experience in behavior analysis, I understand that independence must be balanced with structure and routine. Through my training in Behavior Analysis I have experience in helping children to develop both vocal verbal language as well sign or other communication systems if necessary.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I found my love of working with children 10 years ago and have never looked back. I have continued my education to become the best childcare provider and educator I can be! While I have worked as a teacher and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, I am constantly coming back to the desire to work with families in their homes as a professional child-care provider. I love the hands-on interaction with children and families and the gift of being part of their lives.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? Creativity, punctuality, honesty, energy, the ability to be firm but fun and loving, and a sense of wonder, curiosity and play!

Additional comments:I look forward to meeting your family!
