Experience: I am an experienced caregiver and off season camp counselor looking for fun and exciting work with children. I have 6+ years experience as a private nanny, Garden Science Teacher, and counselor at a sleep-away camp in the southern Sierras - I love working with children and animals. I have experience with all ages ranging from infant to 15 years old and am proficient as a tutor in most elementary through high school subjects. I organized activities, overnights, bedtime, bath time, story time - you name it - for groups of 8-12 children at JRC and ran multiple Garden Science classes per week. I also have experience with farm animals as well as cats and dogs. Besides nanny care, I am well organized and prepared to tackle any house management tasks! I have experience picking up and dropping off kids at school, grocery shopping, preparing meals, doing laundry, errands, organization, and tidying up. I also have a valid passport and love to travel, so I am open to families who also have the travel bug!

Experience with the following age groups: Infants -Toddler -Young Preschool -Preschool -Pre-K -School Age -Teenagers.

Interests and hobbies:I spend time backpacking, trail running, camping, swimming, in the garden, on a hike, or anywhere outside! I enjoy cooking for friends and spending time in the sun.

Describe your childcare style: I focus on encouraging children to be themselves and explore their curiosities. I believe in fostering joy, playfulness, and respect for nature and those around us while making sure children learn to respect themselves in the process. I regularly pull from my outdoor classroom curriculum and continue to be inspired by alternative education like Waldorf and Montessori schools. My true passion lies in connecting children with the physical world around them and I ascribe primarily to experience based education.

What activities do you like to do with children:I base all of my activities on the personalities, age, and development of the child. I am an advocate for challenging kids to come out of their comfort zone. Maybe that means a scavenger hunt in a new park, swimming in the deep end, or riding a horse. Whatever it is, I encourage them to explore their interests. I also work closely to help them develop age specific milestones. For Infants and Toddlers, I implement play-based learning where walking, gross and fine motor activities, colors, shapes, speech and movement is incredibly important. For Preschool ages, we explore science and sensory skills. As I get to know the children better, we move onto projects and team dinners and bigger activities!

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with kids and am grateful to help shape their view of the world and foster their sense of curiosity. I am lucky to have a job where I am never complacent!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?Outgoing, Fun, Reliable, Organized, Thoughtful, Patient, Flexible, Strong Communicator and Active.

Additional comments:I am excited to be a part of a family in Boulder!
