Experience: My childcare experience started when I was 11, caring for my two younger siblings while my parents both worked full time. From there I would do various “mother’s helper” jobs around my neighborhood which led to an abundance of great babysitting opportunities as I got older. When I moved to Colorado I became a full time Nanny and house manager until the family relocated out of state after 9 months of working with them. I have other babysitting jobs which include many infants and toddlers. My teaching experience includes working in a 3rd grade classroom for three months while I was studying childhood education.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant - middle school with extensive care for infants and toddlers.

Interests and hobbies:Anything to do with the outdoors is where my heart is at. I love to hike, do yoga, rock climb, paddle board, read and write. I have a deep passion for Herbal Medicine which allows me to spend lots of time in gardens and the kitchen. I love to cook and meal prep as well!

Describe your childcare style: I strive to create a conscious, healthy, and loving environment when I caretake. A safe and nurturing space where children feel free and encouraged to navigate through situations themselves while knowing that I am there to maintain structure, balance and a helping hand. I strongly believe that we can learn a lot from children and it’s a beautiful thing to witness their minds develop. I value communication, lesson learning, space and the importance of routine. In order for a child to feel comfortable and gain trust, they seek compassion, to be heard, and to feel supported unconditionally. Active listening, consistency, reliability and creativity are also all important aspects of my childcare style.

What activities do you like to do with children:With children of all ages, I love to be outside when possible. I enjoy taking them walks, having picnics, going to a nearby park, playing games, reading books and creating activities that help their minds develop while having fun. If I am with an infant, I enjoy to wear the baby, communicate to them with books and small stimulaitng activities. With toddlers and older, I love to cook with them, do arts and crafts, read books, or simply be still with them and enjoy a story time. I strive to make their days as special as possible with creative outdoor and indoor activities that keep them active and present.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I have always had a deep passion and genuine love for care taking. As a toddler I had my own diaper bag and snacks for my dolls no matter where we went. I then took on the responsibility of potty training my two younger siblings. I have natural motherly instincts and it fulfills me to share that love and energy with children and other families. From a young age I have always innately loved household duties. Sticking to my mother’s hip while she cooked, cleaned and did laundry. It has always given me great satisfaction to manage my time responsibly, care for others and create the healthiest environment possible. I am very conscious about what serves my soul and makes me happy, childcare and caring for a home are very high on that list.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? It is important for a nanny to be trustworthy, reliable, patient, compassionate, creative and engaged. A nanny needs to be experienced, mature, and responsible. If it were my children I would want someone who values learning, listening, and making my child feel comfortable, safe and loved unconditionally. A nanny needs to know when/how to set boundaries; knowing when to be a kid along side them, or an adult in charge. They need to love what they do and take the time to create a special connection.

Additional comments:Thank you so much for your consideration, I look forward to meeting you and your family!
