Experience: I have 30+years of childcare experience, including, parenting, grandparenting, Sunday schools, youth camps, babysitting and special needs education, with 5 years professional Nannying and Household management through a freelance agency. As Household Manager for two doctors, I took care of the daily maintenance of their home, including, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, school pick up and drop-off, meal and snack preparation and focused imaginative playtime. My teaching experience includes the former and, professionally, I was honored to work for 6 years as a Paraprofessional in one of our school district's Austistic Support classrooms. My love of children and the wonders that are their minds and hearts, began decades ago. Caring for children in one capacity or another has filled my life. I babysat and worked in church nurseries since I was 10yrs old. I have had three decades of childrearing, while teaching in Preschools, Sunday schools and working summer camps, along with employment in the school district's high school for 10 years.

Experience with the following age groups: I have a natural gift for handling and caring for newborns and infants to hands on/ knees down play on a toddler level, as well as, finding explorative and imaginative adventures with preschool and school age children. My attentive brand of caregiving puts older school age children at ease through showing individual respect and finding the humor in life's situations. I have cared for infants and toddlers with special needs who needed therapies, both in home and at facilities, that I was more than happy to continue in their daily routines, as well as, helping Mom and Dad discover new ways of interacting that promoted progress.

Interests and hobbies:I love to move...indoors and out. I love to laugh. I am very interested in medicine and, therefore, healthy bodies, minds and hearts. I walk my two large dogs and hike with family. I love movies of all kinds and love to read and sing and be social. I would love to learn more new things to develop more hobbies. I'm interested in kayaking, sailing, SUP yoga, camping and doing good.

Describe your childcare style:My calm, nurturing & attentive personality coupled w/ a healthy set of playfully employed boundaries is the gift I have for childcare. I am very energetic, patient, organized, upbeat, fun, mannerly, articulate & a professional communicator. I am health, safety & detail conscious. I am a talented multi-tasker who loves physical activity, indoors & out, w/ a passion for care. I am reliable to a fault, in great health & excited be at work each day. I know how to add adventure & excitement to our day! I love to teach, play, do crafts, read, sing & do puzzles, as well as, encourage engaging, age appropriate, clean up games & kitchen skills. I prefer redirection to 'correction'. I have seen a tone of redirection confirmed with appropriate expectations guide children to move toward their healthiest outcomes when attempting to follow through in a game or task.

What activities do you like to do with children:Depending upon age, I love to watch babies and children learn and achieve. Reading is a favorite indoor activity, followed by coloring, building, game playing, kitchen fun and crawl-around-on-the-floor pretending. In the car I love to sing, chat and note points of interest to spark thought, discussion and imagination. Outdoors I love walks and collecting and puddles and mud and physical play and laughter.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am ready to have even more of myself to offer to new families. I know parenting is a daunting task unto itself even without the demands of today's professional careers. I love to ease the strain for families; to help create a calm and less chaotic home experience for them during their times together.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?A focused Nanny is a good Nanny. Intuition can be very valuable while working with a family. A Nanny should be a good communicator and forthcoming enough to be honest with herself and the family she is serving. A nanny should have a light, playful spirit that is ready to flex with the daily 'temperature' of her charges' moods and interests. Being kind and attentive is of great value. Offering an infant/child/teen or parent one's undivided attention is nearly as good as a hug to show them genuine caring. Be resourceful, reliable, courageous, kind, empathetic, hardworking and flexible.

Additional comments:I have been highly valued by every family I have worked with and by every employer for whom I have ever worked. I look forward to meeting your family!
