Experience: I have a combined 10 years of experience in childcare. In high school, I worked in a daycare for about 3.5 years with all ages, from Infants through School Age. After high school I pursued a degree in Spanish education and nannied full time during summer and winter breaks for several families with children from Infant through School Age.. Once I graduated, I got my Master's degree in Teaching and Learning and worked as a 6th, 7th and 8th grade Spanish teacher for 3 years. I feel truly lucky to have worked with all age groups and to have found the joy in working with each group of children. Throughout these experiences, I have learned so much about myself as well as children of all ages and look forward to leveraging my knowledge and experience in the future. Would be happy to help your children learn Spanish!

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through school age.

Interests and hobbies:I have worked with newborns-teenagers. I have experience changing diapers, preparing bottles, tutoring, and coaching. I am fully capable of working with all age ranges and find joy in each group!

Describe your childcare style:My childcare style is very interactive. I enjoy planning activities that the children will find engaging, fun, and might even learn something from! I like to stick to a daily schedule as routine can be beneficial, as well as stay flexible in case something comes up or to just keep things exciting. As far as discipline goes, I believe in the power of a conversation. I like to talk with the child and get their perspective, and then discuss why it wasn't a good decision and ways that they can make amends with the situation. It's important to recognize that children are still learning right from wrong and expectations, and it's our job as an adult to teach them and help them learn.

What activities do you like to do with children:I base the activities I do with children on the ages and stages of each child. With infants, I like to do tummy time, sitting, crawling, standing, walking. Activities that encourage the development of gross and fine motor skills, shapes, speech development, read stories, music etc. With toddlers, some of the activities I like to do are work on colors, practice numbers, alphabet and work on speech/phonics. I also love to do art and be creative! As kids get older, I like to introduce age appropriate skills like using child-safe scissors to practice cutting along a line, drawing different shapes, coloring, tracing letters/numbers, doing safe science experiments, and practicing sight words! I also enjoy creating games and playing sports. With my experience and education in teaching Spanish, I am happy to teach your children a second language! In general, I really love and appreciate the outdoors. This is the main reason I made the move to Colorado. I enjoy going for walks, going for bike rides, doing activities in the yard, going to the park, and finding outings within the community. I’d love to be able to take the kids outdoors often and let them explore, hike, play at the park, or anything else they enjoy doing! I also enjoy baking, playing games, reading, and creating stories. Additionally, I look forward to applying my knowledge and expertise as a teacher and constructively helping older children with their homework, school projects, reading and writing skills. I like to keep in mind that children are still children, so lots of fun is very important! I look forward to planning fun activities designed to the specific interests and development of your children.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I am interested in working as a nanny as this is what comes naturally to me and something that I completely enjoy. Working with children feels like the most important and fulfilling work that I could do with my life. I love that I can use my skills of teaching as well as learn from the children.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe a nanny should be attentive, interactive, caring, energetic, and professional. A nanny should be excited to play and learn with the children in their care and be ready to maximize the possibilities of each day! It's important for a nanny to have complete confidence in their care-taking abilities as well as take into account the personal choices and parenting styles of the family.

Additional comments:I look forward to finding the right fit for me as well as for the family through Nannies of the Rockies!
