I'm also willing to work as:
BABYSITTING   TEMPORARY   OTHER SERVICES

Experience: Childcare: I have 6 years teaching experience, with the majority of that time spent working as an elementary art teacher with students in kindergarten-5th grade. I worked as a babysitter all 4 years of high school for children ages 1-9, as well as in a daycare for a year in high school. I worked in the toddler room of the daycare, mostly with two-year olds. As well as teaching experience in public school settings, I have taught private art classes to ages 5-adult in various mediums on a part time basis for the last 6 years. I have also worked with children aged 5 and up as a dance teacher and choreographer on several musical theatre productions. House Manager: I do not have professional house manager experience but am open to taking a position combining this role with nanny work. The organizational and management skills I use as a classroom teacher will translate to this position well. I handle the bulk supply ordering for art supplies for both of the schools I currently work at and feel comfortable handling the annual budget. I also have 3 years experience as a receptionist (from high school). Two of those years were spent working at a hair salon, and the other one at a doctor’s office. In both positions, I was responsible for taking phone calls, making appointments, managing the stylist’s and doctor’s schedules, and organizing records and bills.

Experience with the following age groups: Toddler (as a babysitter and daycare attendant), Preschool (as a babysitter and teacher), School Age (as a babysitter and teacher).

Interests and hobbies:I love to paint, draw, and experiment with all kinds of art mediums! I work as a freelance muralist and graphic designer in my spare time as well. I love to spend time outdoors hiking, camping, kayaking, and exploring. These interests are one of the main reasons I chose to make the move to Colorado, and I look forward to the many outdoor opportunities this will bring! I also enjoy yoga, reading, and attending musical and theatrical performances.

Describe your childcare style: I aim to create a welcoming, loving and safe space for the children I work with while ensuring we are having fun! In the school setting, I strive to foster the joy of learning in each of my students and encourage them to develop their individual styles in the art room. I set clear expectations for mutual respect and expect every child to take responsibility for their own actions in the learning process. Above all, my goal is to make a child feel comfortable enough to reach their highest potential, offering encouragement and support when needed.

What activities do you like to do with children:What activities do you like to do with children: I like to do all kinds of creative, child centered activities with children, as well as anything active and outside! Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? I love working with children! My favorite aspect of working in classrooms has been seeing the capacity for joy young minds have. I enjoy being able to foster that joy and inspire creativity through my teaching. I am looking to do this in a more relaxed work environment after the last few years in education. I think working as a nanny will allow me to do exactly that!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe a nanny should fit into the lifestyle and personality of the family. A background in education is a strength for a nanny, as you would be better able to help prepare children for later life. A nanny should also be a kind and patient person, as dealing with little's emotions on a daily basis takes a tender heart. Adaptability to a family's changing needs is also an important asset.
