Level of education: I received my BA in Political Science from Colorado State University in 2018. I’m currently in grad school part time with online for Mental Health Counseling.

Additional skills or certifications: Valid Driver’s License and US Passport. CPR & First Aid Certified. Fully COVID vaccinated. I’m proficient in German with experience teaching it to preschool aged children. I studied it formally for 6 years in high school and college and lived in northern Italy in 2016 where I got to use it conversationally. I am exerienced in Montessori based learning.

I'm also willing to work as:
BABYSITTING   TEMPORARY   OTHER SERVICES

Experience: Childcare: I’ve worked in childcare off and on for 10 years, and ultimately always return to it because of the joy it brings me. In high school I babysat for neighborhood kids which inspired me to connect with my local montessori style preschool, where I went on to work as an assistant teacher. I quickly got comfortable with watching many children at once and ensuring they were safe and happy. The following year I took those skills and brought them to a fantasy themed summer camp geared towards children with autism. Campers I worked with ranged from ages 6-14 and at any given point the group sizes I was in charge of were about eight children. I made sure each day was engaging, active, and that they always had sunscreen and a full water bottle and snacks before heading out on our daily adventures! As many of my campers were neurodivergent with a specific set of needs, I kept an open line of communication with parents so they could inform me of how to best assist and I could give updates on their child’s wellbeing. I ultimately went on to nanny full time for several different families. I like to think that anything I can do around the house to help give the parents more meaningful time with their children in the evenings is time well spent! Additionally I have attended kid’s doctors appointments such as weekly speech therapy. I took notes during lessons and implemented the recommended strategies into the child’s daily life and reported back to the speech therapist. One of my biggest goals is making sure that children are meeting their milestones in a way that's so fun that they don’t even realize they’re learning. House Manager: As a live-in Au Pair in Italy one of my main roles was that of House Manager. I let in the cleaning staff and communicated any specific needs of the parents. Additionally I helped juggle upcoming preschool events and parties. As a house manager here in the US my duties have involved driving children, meal prep and cleanup, packing lunches, laundry, bottle washing, and light housekeeping.

Experience with the following age groups: Infants through school age.

Interests and hobbies:Stand up comedy, hiking, dancing, jewelry making, crossfit, international travel.

Describe your childcare style:Silly, warm, safety oriented, outdoorsy, communicative and creative.

What activities do you like to do with children:Infants: playing with small toys for hand eye coordination, looking at colors, shapes,, exploring textures, tummy time, creating a “obstacle course” (toys spread out across a mat to encourage crawling), language development, singing etc. Toddlers: going to the park, dance parties, building fairy houses, learning how to give gentle pets to the dog/cat, baking, reading, numbers, colors etc. Children: activities based on ages and interests including making and baking polymer clay jewelry, chalk drawing, painting, basketball/soccer, board games, live action adventure “quests” etc.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? In all my years of working with children, I’ve always been happy in the morning going to work. On the weekends, I genuinely miss them and look forward to Monday. That’s how you know you’ve found the right career field!

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter?I believe being communicative and safety are some of the most important qualities in a nanny. For example, if I notice a strange rash pop up on a child I’ll take a picture to timestamp and send it to the parents so we can all collectively keep an eye on it. If I notice a new concerning behavior developing, I’ll bring it up to the parents along with ideas of how we can counter it and make sure all adults are on the same page. I also think that silliness is an essential part of the job. I don’t want children to feel like their nanny is just quietly observing them. I want to be in the sandpit with them, building sandcastles, making jokes and belly laughing together!

Additional comments:Thank you for reading my profile! I look forward to meeting an amazing family through Nannies of the Rockies!
