Experience: I was a career nanny for 5 years. Those 5 years were some of the best experiences of my life! I then worked at an International Charter School, Kindergarten - 8th grade as an Instructional Aide, and nurse assistant. I worked with mostly K, 1st and 2nd grades in small groups, working on letter recognition, cognitive and motor skills. This included anything that a child might need to better assist their learning in the classroom. I assisted with all the kids in the classroom with reading, writing, technology, social and emotional support. In the nurse's office I helped with any issue that came up, from band-aids and ice to one on one with kids who have type 1 diabetes, and asthma. I am fully trained in diabetic care, asthma, and some experience with G tube feedings. I was in this position for 4 years. This was a huge joy for me, but after 4 years, I was extremely excited to get back to nannying and working one on one with children again, while being a support to a family. For the last year, I have been working with a family as a nanny to a newborn, I truly love working with children of all ages!

Experience with the following age groups: Infant through school age.

Interests and hobbies:Some of my interests are reading, journaling, and spending time with family and friends. I'm a huge animal lover, anything outdoors, we LOVE to camp and enjoy the lake!

Describe your childcare style:My nanny style is happy, nurturing, energetic, attentive, and patient. Open and honest communication is extremely important. I adapt quickly to the family's preferred way of doing things. I love to teach and play at the same time, we always have fun no matter what the kids and I are doing! I like to be silly and get my hands dirty, yet know when it's time to be a respected authority figure and being loving yet firm..

What activities do you like to do with children:Infant experience: Some things I love doing in that age range are tummy time, sun time if needed for health concerns, nurturing and bonding, hand and foot massage, cuddling. Water play, texture play, Hand and eye coordination activities, learning to sit up, roll over. Funny faces, peek-a-boo, smiling games, clapping babies hands together, mirror play, stuffed animals, sounds, visuals. Reading, listening to classical music and singing songs are especially fun! Stroller rides and visual fun with bubbles, having some time exploring at parks, the Zoo or Aquarium. Age appropriate outdoor and nature activities. Swimming, stacking blocks. All activities geared towards the child's individual growth and development! Toddler experience: All of the above activities apply here as well, along with more structured and unstructured play. Really engaging in childhood development. Legos and Lincoln logs, Coloring or drawing. Dress up, costumes, playdates with other nanny groups or friends of the family. Bubbles, water and texture play, peek-a-boo. Mirror games, puzzles, Music, rock climbing, swim, or dance classes, art and crafts! Any outdoor activities like the parks, trails, the Zoo, Museum of Nature and Science, and the Aquarium. Learning our ABC'S, practicing our letters and numbers. Reading and writing practice. Potty training! Introducing boundaries, patience, age appropriate accountability. Having life experiences really come into play in this age group, and is extremely fun to be a part of! Preschool experience: A lot more hands-on activities! Starting to really learn about taking turns, patience, boundaries, age appropriate accountability. Daily outings that could include the Children's museum, the Zoo, Aquarium, parks, playdates, swimming, dance, rock climbing, arts and crafts, building anything and everything with Legos, blocks, play tents, puzzles, structured and unstructured play. Dress up, and costumes. Singing, reading and writing or letters, numbers, names. Talking more about what state we live in, colors, shapes, ABC'S, all about animals, science! School age experience: Focusing on learning activities, homework help, taking them to parks, cultural events, outdoor activities, any additional lessons or after school classes.
