Experience: Position 1. I currently care for two children, ages six and three. One child has severe ADHD and behavioral issues. I assist with the household, clean, meal prep, help with homework and projects, and help manage the child’s behavioral issues. I also take the children to activities and pick them up from school. Position 2. For this position, I care for and play with one child, age two. I meal prep, put her down for naps, and do laundry and cleaning. I take her to activities, including the library, walks, hikes, and more. Position 3. For this position, I cared for and played with one child who has autism (newborn-three years old). I took this child to activities, did meal prep, and helped clean.

Experience with the following age groups: I have experience with infants, toddlers, preschool age, and school age. I have a lot of experience with age 6 months- 2 years old.

Interests and hobbies:I absolutely love reading, it’s my favorite pastime. I think it’s so important for mental and physical health to spend a lot of time outside. I prefer hiking, walking, and setting up my hammock to relax. I frequently go antiquing and thrifting as well.

Describe your childcare style:I am easy going and respectful towards children. I think children are often overlooked, but have insights to situations that adults simply don’t have. I am an active listener, gentle, caring, and very warm towards children. I always want to work with the parents in regards to their style of parenting to make sure that I am providing their children with the best care.

What activities do you like to do with children:Infants: For infants, working on developmental milestones and letting them observe the world through different lenses is key (being outside, inside, at a museum, etc). My main priority with infants is ensuring comfort and a nurturing environment, while also reaching those pivotal milestones. I love to read to children at all ages as well. Toddlers: Toddlers are curious! This is a great time for reading, drawing, crafting, and just exercising their creative abilities. I also love to take toddlers to different activities outside of the house so they can start to get a grasp on the world outside of their home. This is also a good time for language development. Preschool: For preschoolers, I love talking with them, letting them create, getting dirty outside, doing scavenger hunts, and reading. This is also a time where children become slightly more independent in their interests! School Age: For school aged children, helping them learn is key. Doing homework and activities that promote their learning is one of the big priorities. I also like to have downtime and creative time with kids at this age, they need both! Most kids this age will have special interests, and I like to lean into that as well.

Why are you interested in working as a Nanny or Babysitter? My first ever “job” in childcare was a mother’s helper at age ten. Ever since then, I have primarily held jobs in childcare. I love kids, and think their views on the world are so refreshing and altruistic. Developing a personal connection with children is also really special. I have such fond memories of my own nannies and babysitters, and I hope to offer that to this generation of children.

What qualities are important in a Nanny or Babysitter? It’s important to be an active listener. Kids want to be heard and are often overlooked or pushed to the side. I want to make kids feel respected and heard. I also strive to be warm and comforting, while also pushing them outside their own comfort zones in safe ways. It is also important to be active and flexible, because children are always changing.

Additional comments:I will provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment to all children that I care for. I would love to find a family that I could grow with and become a part of the family.
