Experience: I have been a childcare and education professional since graduating college in 2015 and receiving dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. After receiving my Maryland Teaching Certificate for PreK-6th grade, I began to explore various career paths outside of the classroom that would support families, and help foster curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. I worked as an early childhood/newborn care specialist at a non-profit for women experiencing homelessness. At this position, I provided guidance and support to mothers of children ages 5 months-5 years old. Support included helping mothers understand and implement developmentally appropriate practices, enhancing parenting skills, and tips in creating a nurturing environment to foster child development. Next, I worked as a nature camp director with Delaware State Parks. In this position, I planned week-long camp activities for children ages 5-12 years old. My primary role as camp director was to create a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for the campers to learn, grow and explore. I planned and oversaw daily schedules, hired and trained camp counselors, implemented and enforced safety protocols, and communicated daily with camper's caregivers to provide them with updates on their child's emotional, social, physical well-being. I have experience working as a full-time nanny for ages 6 months-2 years old. In this role, I provided care for the child including feeding, diapering, bathing, and developing a consistent nap schedule. I planned activities for her that were engaging and age-appropriate to stimulate physical, social, and cognitive development.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant (as a nanny), Toddler (as a nanny, early childcare specialist), Preschool (as a teaching intern), School Age (as a Camp Director, and while working as a librarian).

Interests and hobbies:My list of interests/hobbies is always growing! I like to spend my time crafting such as crocheting, knitting, and cross-stitching. I also love to spend as much time as I can outside whether I am walking my dog, hiking, or tending to my garden. I am also passionate about various causes including animal rehabilitation and human rights; I spend as much time as I can volunteering in support of those.

Describe your childcare style:My childcare philosophy is gentle; centered around a compassionate, respectful, and nurturing approach to raising and caring for children. It is rooted in the belief that children thrive in an environment that prioritizes their emotional well-being, autonomy, and individuality.

What activities do you like to do with children:Infant: Tummy time, reading, music & singing, sensory play and texture exploration, peek-a-boo. Toddler: Building with blocks, reading, art exploration, nature walks, simple puzzles, water play, life skill work ex. putting their cups and dishes away. Preschool: Reading, arts and crafts, storytelling and pretend play, outdoor play and nature walks, building and constructing ex. LEGO Duplo, life skill work ex. helping clean dishes or sweep the floor. School-age: Reading, board games, puzzles, science experiments, arts and crafts, outdoor play and sports, life skill work ex. cooking and baking.

I find joy and purpose in being a positive influence, not only in a child's life, but in the life of the whole family as they navigate this new, exciting, challenging journey in raising a good human.
