Experience: I've been in the child development field for 22 years. I have been a Nanny/House Manager (ages 0-7) here in Colorado for the past 7 years, and before that I worked as an early childhood education and preschool teacher (ages 2-5) for 10 years. I have experience babysitting all ages (0-12) for 5 years. I also have two adult children of my own.

Interests and hobbies:On my days off, you will find me out in my garden, hiking with my dog, doing various arts and craft projects, baking/cooking, I also love to help out around my community and will often find volunteer opportunities.

Describe your childcare style:I am a nurturing, loving, and happy person and this reflects in my relationships with my own children, as well as others. I prioritize, safety and well-being, while encouraging children to have fun and try new things. I know how important it is for children to have a creative outlet and believe that play is the most important activity for child development and social/emotional growth. Redirection and positive reinforcement is always more effective and feels better for everyone involved. It is also important to give children choices within reason so that they develop a sense of autonomy appropriate for their age. Healthy boundaries are also necessary, as well as routines and rules agreed upon by the nanny and family.

What activities do you like to do with children:(0-5 months) singing, nurturing and cuddling, tummy time, walks, and time outside. (5-8 months) pincer grasp (picking up cheerios), sitting outside on a blanket, reading stories, and singing songs. (6-12 months) crawling to objects or toys, reading, and acting out stories, music and movement, paint at highchair, crawling outside on grass, swinging at park. (9-12 months) walking from object to object with assistance, sensory activities for feet, music and movement, reading stories, singing, outdoor play on soft areas, (1-2) years outings such as park, socialization with other children, their age, art projects with hands, music and movement, color recognition, early words and phrases, repetitive songs. (2-3) years numbers and letters recognition, Arts and crafts, outings, socialization with children, their ages, story time at the library, art projects with hands, music and movement. (3-5 years) outing such as library, museums, gross motors, skills for jumping running, word, and number, recognition, early reading skills, Music and movement, books and stories, more elaborate, art projects using fine motor skills. School age activities are based on the personal interests of the the individual child.
