Experience: I have an extensive background in childcare beginning at the age of 19. I worked for a bit as a cosmetologist, but that circled right back around into a kid's haircutting business. Shortly after I became a mom of 2 boys and was lucky enough to be able to stay at home and raise them. More often than not, I was asked to keep other children because I was home with mine. Once my sons were in school, I was free to care for little ones during the day. Any house manager skills I have were managing my own home. However, I am capable of meal prep, grocery shopping, kid laundry and small household tasks that do not take my attention away from the children.

Experience with the following age groups: Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School age.

Interests and hobbies:When not working you can find me reading, crocheting, working out and hanging with my boys, my dogs, or with my friends.

Describe your childcare style:Unless the family uses a specific parenting style (which I will always follow), I use Jim Fay's Love and Logic approach. It is an approach to behavior from a loving standpoint that also encourages children to be an active participant in recognizing their own behavior patterns and feelings. I am a very hands-on, down-on-the-floor nanny that likes to tap into a child's interest in order to maximize their learning potential. I prefer a structured schedule as kiddos thrive on knowing what to expect. I do this with the parent's schedule in mind of course! You will find I thrive on teachable moments.
